More Than 50 Holiday Deals Coming to Norton Commons for Small Business Saturday and Holiday Open House
Independent shopping, dining, and services destination hosting events with neighborhood traditions and holiday specials
PROSPECT, Ky. — Businesses throughout Norton Commons will offer more than 50 holiday deals and specials during two upcoming shopping events: Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28 and the community’s Holiday Open House on Dec. 5.
Home to more than 100 businesses, most independently owned, Norton Commons has welcomed seven new businesses this year, expanding its mix of shops, restaurants and services throughout the North and South Village Town Centers.
Part of the nationwide Shop Small movement, Small Business Saturday will feature giveaways, pop-ups, refreshments and special offers from more than 25 establishments on Nov. 28. According to American Express, consumers reported spending an estimated $18 billion at small businesses nationwide on Small Business Saturday in 2025.
The celebration continues with the Norton Commons Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 5, an all-day event featuring in-store specials, complimentary beverages and community festivities. Visitors can also take part in a holiday tradition benefiting Toys for Tots, with free carriage and sleigh rides from 5 to 7 p.m. and photos with Santa from 4 to 6 p.m. in exchange for a new, unwrapped toy donation.
Adding to the holiday shopping experience, six seasonal retailers are operating in the North Village Market cottages at 6301 Moonseed Street, offering gifts, apparel, art and home goods from local entrepreneurs and artisans. More than half a dozen businesses that got their start in the cottages have since expanded into larger, permanent storefronts in Norton Commons, including The Minted Design.
“We’re anticipating an exciting holiday season,” said Cindy Baerny, owner of The Minted Design. “Since expanding into our larger, custom-designed space in June, we’ve been able to create the elevated shopping experience we always envisioned. From luxury needlepoint and distinctive, thoughtfully curated products to unique classes and events, we offer something beyond traditional retail.”
With its walkable town centers and growing collection of independent businesses, Norton Commons offers visitors opportunities to shop for distinctive gifts, enjoy local dining and experience neighborhood holiday traditions.
